First of all the cast is excellent, many from the Broadway production, at least in one of its iterations. The music is good with a constant forward momentum even if I did not come out whistling any of the tunes. Smart lyrics and good twists on the old tale.
The Civic Center has many remotely situated seats so if you are not up front bring binoculars. It makes the difference. I found the choruses incoherent, nice music but they could have been singing bla bla bla. Since there are no subtitles might want to look up lyrics ahead though enough was clear to gather the plot.
On cheap tickets Ticketmaster does a 45 % markup up front, then adds another 10% at the end for fun. Someday perhaps the Justice Dept will look into this monopoly. Still the show is worth it. Only a few shows left. See it.
