I was not impressed.

We visited the Sandbar for lunch on a Saturday, but I was not especially impressed, especially by the prices.

My wife had the "chicken paillard." It was very well presented on the plate, and she seemed to really like it.

I had "fish 'n chips." The small portion of chips was excellent, but the fish was neither here nor there - I should have requested a salt shaker. (This is the sort of restaurant that does not have salt and pepper on the table.)

We shared a Ceasar's salad (I think it was $15!) and it was OK; nothing to write home about. We also shared a piece of "key lime pie." Again, very well presented and very tasty. To drink, we merely had one Coke and one iced tea.

The restaurant is now located on the site of the old Pearl Brewery - apparently it was once located elsewhere, but for my taste this small restaurant is just too noisy. The conversation at the next table was bothersome, as was the loud guffawing from another table. What can I say?

Our modest lunch came to more than $62 after tax - but before a tip to the young waiter. That's ridiculous. And wait until you see the prices on the dinner menu - they're jaw-dropping! Then again, perhaps I'm just out of touch with what things cost today. In any event, I was somewhat disappointed.

Really excellent

I wish they were open for dinner but for a first-class lunch, it really can't be beaten on downtown. The fish is just so fresh it tastes amazing.
