It only took 1 visit - yes 1 visit - and I was instantly hooked. I kid you not. I keep asking myself how I could have gone so long without knowing about Gombei...but the important thing is I know about it now...and now so do you!
A true hidden gem in San Jose's Japantown. Don't come here looking for sushi; that's not what this place is all about. Come here for traditional and authentic homestyle Japanese meals. I'm talking beef yukinake, ton katsu, udon bowls, croquettes, and the tofu....OH the tofu! It's straight from next door (San Jose Tofu Company) and the freshest, tastiest tofu you'll find in all of the South Bay.
So next time you find yourself in San Jose, give it a try...you can thank me later!
