Jim Marshall
Mr. Marshall co-founded Selby Venture Partners in 1998 and brings over 16 years of investment and technology experience in the Silicon Valley.
When mentoring and supporting management teams of Selby portfolio companies, Jim draws on expertise developed during his nine years in various positions at Silicon Valley Bank. While there, he worked closely with more than 75 early-stage, emerging growth technology companies. In his last position as Vice President of the Commercial Software Practice, he worked with a number of venture-backed software and Internet companies including Accrue Software, BEA Systems, Broadbase Software, E.piphany and Nuance Communications.
Jim serves on the board of Intelleflex Corp., Debitman, Inc., and Zenasis Technologies (Observer). In addition, Jim has sourced or led Selby's investments in Blue Pumpkin Software (acquired by Witness Systems), ConsumerReview (acquired by E-centives), Panopticon (acquired by Kana, NASDAQ:KANAE) and SkyPilot Networks, Inc. Jim is also a board member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and the VCRoundtable.
He received a B.S. degree in Finance from Santa Clara University, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Outside of the office, his time is devoted to his family, golf, tennis, and musical interests.
