I think the Bay Cruise is a super touristy attraction, but it's a great experience to see the Golden Gate bridge up close and to get those touristy-postcard-like photos! Whenever I have a friend visiting me that is coming to San Francisco for the first time, I take them on this cruise and then walk around the wharf!
The cruise tickets can be bought online or at the pier. The Bay cruises are around $20 so it's fairly reasonably priced.
