Hocket TAKES OFF performing Guillaume de Machaut’s Messe de Nostre Dame. In the 1360's, right after the Black Death had taken a third of Europe's population, Machaut finished a 4-voice Mass "of Our Lady", the first known complete polyphonic setting of the Ordinary by one composer.
Hocket joins the choirs of Notre Dame des Victoires, in a program celebrating Machaut’s mass, sung by Hocket; and Gregorian chant propers and Marian motets by Francisco Guerrero, sung by the NDV ensembles.
