Julius Shulman was, as many experts agree, the world’s greatest architectural photographer. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, Visual Acoustics celebrates the life and career of this brilliant artist and highlights not only the iconic images that made the man, but the magnetic character behind those images. Shulman, who passed away this year, captured the work of virtually every modern architect since the 1930s, including Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, John Lautner and Frank Gehry.

No stars of Hoffman for that poor showing. Not one of his films has been a disappointment (okay... maybe Mad City but that might have been Travolta's fault right?) His impersonation work is engrossing (Hook, Rain Main) and presence on film indisputable. Aha! one star off for Meet the Fockers... funny film but I couldn't stand watching him in that role.
