Birth of the Outer Sunset District - SFMHS Presents

Author and historian Woody LaBounty will showcase one of the quirkiest and least-remembered communities in San Francisco’s history.

In researching his new book, Carville-by-the-Sea: San Francisco’s Streetcar Suburb, LaBounty unearthed never-before published images and stories from personal archives and libraries to tell the tale of Carville’s heyday and its transition into today’s Outer Sunset District. LaBounty’s book will be available at the program.
