Leakey Prize Event - U.S. Primatology Film Screening

Thursday, Oct 30 6:00p
Price: $15.00; $10.00 for members
Age Suitability: None Specified

An inspiring evening of cinematic discovery and discourse on the past, present and endangered future of our closest living relatives, the great apes. The Leakey Foundation will host the U.S. screening of two award-winning primatology films, selected at the 2008 International Primatological Society Congress in Edinburgh, Scotland. The films, entitled "Bonobos: Missing in Action", (2006, UK) and "Mystery of Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey", (2002, China), were chosen for their original, scientifically accurate and compelling presentations of the stories of two different endangered primates. The films also follow the stories of the humans devoted to understanding and advocating for these primates and the vast, ever expanding body of knowledge they impart on us; giving us insight into what it means to be a primate and what it means to be a human.
