Founded in 1990 in Helsinki, Amorphis have become a standard of originality and musical greatness in the European metal scenes. Originally the idea of guitarist Esa Holopainen, Amorphis were innovators in the early 90s Finnish Death Metal scene, and since have steadily developed into a more significant and adventurous hard rock act. The underground metal break-through, "Tales Of The Thousand Lakes," shook metal fans worldwide in 1994, and not only have they shown that they are capable of reaching the masses but have also continued to forge new musical ground with each release since. Amorphis' new album, "Eclipse," is a milestone in the band's career that also marks the arrival of a new voice and face to the fold.
