Finntroll and and Warbringer

Finland's purveyors of the most original and innovative form of extreme music are preparing to bring their unique brand of metal to North America. Birthing a brilliant phenomenon, Finntroll blend pagan black metal with traditional Finnish humppa (polka) to create mug-hoisting choruses for drunken golem-chasers. With renewed vigor and a fiery new frontman, Finntroll crawl up from their clammy tavern clutching their fifth full-length, "Ur Jordens Djup." After many nights of drunken debauchery at Sonic Pump studios, where they certainly overstayed their welcome, the Finnish sextet is proud to bring you another fine example of their trademark blackened pagan folk metal. Under the guidance of producer extraordinaire Nino Laurenne, who has similarly assisted goth legends Nightwish and Amorphis, Finntroll have crafted their most consistent concoction of cavernous chaos yet. The effort is drenched in atmosphere, with guitarists Skrymer and Routa creating a maelstrom of metal mayhem amidst the pull and sway of pagan polka. Trollhorn (keyboards) channels the jubilant troll within to give "Ur Jordens Djup" its celebratory and unmistakably mythological charm.
