The Fleetwood

The Fleetwood is a casual fine dining bar, lounge and restaurant in San Diego's East Village near Petco Park, located in a large corner space formerly known as the Luna Lounge.

The concept for The Fleetwood was created by a bartender, a professional bartender who has worked in bars his entire adult life. He knows what people like to drink, and how to mix it properly. Expect specialty drinks, extensive wine-by-the-glass list, specialty cocktails and bottle service.

The Fleetwood believes in making everything in-house - the old fashioned way. Led by head chef Mark Bolton (formerly with Pacifica del Mar), the menu features an array of comfort cuisine, ranging from tomato bisque served with three-cheese grilled cheese to old standards like fried chicken, pork chops, BLTA wraps and side dishes like tater tots and macaroni and cheese. The Fleetwood also offers a late night lounge menu, giving late-night nibblers the chance to get beer battered prawns, bacon cheddar cheeseburger and bacon wrapped meatloaf.

The Fleetwood recognizes that it's not merely its food and drink, but also its customers, who play a key part of the mix. Taking full advantage of the corner site on which it's situated, the 6200 square-foot space is filled with lush palm trees, a palette of olive greens, warm browns and jewel-toned accents, communal dining tables plus banquette seating and comfy leather couches set in niches. The atmosphere is further complimented by 11 flat screen high-def TV's, 2 large high-def projection screens and a large outdoor patio. On select nights and for special events, The Fleetwood operates an adjoining, intimate New York-style lounge called The Wood.

Pre- and Post-Game Festivities: The Fleetwood is located right by the ballpark. Either before the game, after the game or just to watch the game, the party starts at The Fleetwood. On game days, The Fleetwood takes advantage of their outdoor patios by offering outdoor bars and a small selection of game-day BBQ food.

The Fleetwood's management team are fixtures in the San Diego and San Francisco nightlife scene. The team is led by Aaron Phillips, formerly of MoMo's (San Francisco), Sidebar and Moondoggies; Brendan Turner from Sidebar, Stingaree, Confidential and Moondoggies; Jennifer Phillips from Moondoggies; David Haggerty and executive chef Mark Bolton were previously with La Jolla's award-winning fine dining establishment Pacifica del Mar.

"There was a gap in San Diego's nightlife - places are typically very flamboyantly trendy or they're dive bars. We wanted to fill that gap by being a neighborhood option that offers the most options. A place where you can meet all walks of life or bring your own party. A place where you can be comfortable, laid back or dressed up," said Aaron Phillips, Director of Operations for The Fleetwood.
