I've never seen the public libraries around San Diego during my 4 years there. I think they are located in hidden areas. I also don't see many large bookstores in the La Jolla area in general.
This store isn't as big as the ones I'm use to in the bay area (2-story mammoths). And the store doesn't have much of a selection. There's also very little seating available (I think I saw 2 chairs).
