Third Annual ArtWalk on the Bay, presented by Port of San Diego and The Big Bay, Returns to America’s Finest City this September
ArtWalk on the Bay is the Fall season’s counterpart to San Diego’s beloved annual Springtime ArtWalk festival in downtown’s Little Italy neighborhood.
Located in Embarcadero Marina Park North (behind Seaport Village), ArtWalk on the Bay presents the best of the region’s original works of art on exhibit and for sale in a unique and picturesque outdoor setting.
ArtWalk on the Bay’s waterfront location is in close proximity to many of the hotels in San Diego’s Gaslamp district, making this event a convenient, must-see attraction for visitors and locals alike. The beautiful Embarcadero Marina Park North provides a scenic venue for art, music and interactive art experiences for individuals and their families.
Now in its third year, some event highlights will include “Artes de Mexico,” a special area presented by the Mexican Consulate, featuring 12 artists from all over Mexico; two entertainment stages with live music performances throughout the weekend; and KidsWalk, with a variety of interactive and educational activities for children, presented by local groups including ArtReach, a non-profit organization that supports art education programs in local elementary schools.
Presented by Port of San Diego/“The Big Bay,” ArtWalk on the Bay 2008 partnerships also include: AT&T, VitaminWater and SmartWater, JetBlue, Bosa, San Diego County Credit Union, CCDC, Seaport Village, San Diego Port Tenants Association, San Diego Magazine, Voice of San Diego, San Diego CityBeat and Viva-City, to create an event that is expected to attract more than 30,000 attendees this year and contributes more than $350,000 to the local San Diego arts and business economy
