San Carlos is accessible by commuter train, by bus, by car, and by private plane at the San Carlos Airport. The CalTrain station, with its historical train depot, is one block from the downtown area and three blocks from City Hall. Buses, run by SamTrans, go up and down the El Camino Real as well as through town.

There are a lot of wonderful boutique shops in downtown San Carlos. The clothing stores are definitely on the expensive side, I haven't bought any clothing from the boutique stores even though they are adorable. Some of the casual dresses are $200!
There's a small grocery store, Foodville on Laurel Street. Most of Laurel are restaurants and there are a LOT of restaurants to choose from.. Japanese, Italian, American, Pizza, Ice-cream and frozen yogurt shops, Mexican, Chinese, etc etc
