Laurel Street Park is a good example of economic development through parks and recreation. The park, with its relaxing lawn areas, planters, trees, extensive landscaping and night lighting is utilized by shoppers as a resting spot before further shopping and by customers of adjacent restaurants. Parks staff provides regular maintenance and cleaning of the grounds. The park is used annually for a portion of the Chamber of Commerce Art and Wine Festival, the Sister City Committee's "Taste of Italy", concerts in the park and the Kiwanis Club's annual toy drive.
At the entrance to the park is a kiosk which provides a place for community announcements, limited to San Carlos community activities, and information about City offered programs, classes and facilities, and public notices. If you would like to submit a flyer for posting at the kiosk, please mail or hand deliver in hard copy form to the Parks and Recreation Department, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos. All submittals are subject to review and approval by the Parks & Recreation Director. Please contact the Parks and Recreation office should you have any questions (650) 802-4421.

The Laurel Street park is excpetionally small, but there are park benches and a nice stage area. During the festivals or farmer market days (towards the end of the year) there is live music on the stage. Sometimes you might even find someone playing their guitar on a park bench. The park is a very nice break from the busy area.
