Shakespeare's 'Othello' and 'Two Gentlemen of Verona'

FTC Inland Theatre Works presents "Othello" and "Two Gentlemen of Verona" as part of their annual summer Shakespeare productions, in San Bernardino.

A black man in a white society, Othello has earned immense respect and honored military position – but does he go too far when he woos the fair Desdemona? Their marriage represents absolute virtue, which can only be destroyed by equal malfeasance. In steps Shakespeare's ultimate villain, Iago, with designs to vanquish the happiness surrounding him.

In Shakespeare's first comedy, "Two Gentlemen of Verona", the audience is taken on a journey from "boring" Verona, to "fabulous" Milan, to a lawless Italian forest. Proteus and Valentine are best friends, but the bounds and bonds of friendship are tested when they both want the same girl. Throw in a real dog (who may or may not bark in verse), and you never know what will happen.

Performances take place on alternating dates, August 15 - 29, in the Performing Arts Center of Arroyo Valley High School, San Bernardino (1881 West Baseline).
