The Civil War that swept Japan during the 12th Century brought in a new age of strength and steel. Men from all over Japan joined ranks of the war ike Taira and Minamoto clans in their battle for control of the country. A fierce new breed of armed nobleman, the Samurai, began to emerge. It took more than just a sword to make a Samurai. Part of his equipment was moral and psychological with an austere unwritten code of personal courage and loyalty. To learn their trade, a commitment to physical hardship was mandatory. Their still was acquired through years of disciplined training designed to strengthen character, as well as physical power. Future Samurai were apprenticed to masters who taught then their skills.So it is with our chefs. They spent long hours learning their skills and, just like the Samurai, once they have mastered the techniques of their craft, they never let them decline. They train daily to keep their skills fine tuned. Here, at the Tokyo Steak House, the spirit of the Samurai still remains. If you don't like your steak (which we believe will never happen) your chef is ready to commit hara-kiri --or cook you another steak. We are couriers of fine Japanese cooking, so that you can enjoy something different in dining out. The Tokyo Steak House has been in this same location since 1977.
