The Smokehouse is a family owned and operated B.B.Q. joint. It is a well known, established restaurant in the southeast side. It was formally started by the Wells family and was called Bob's Smokehouse.
In May of 2003 it was purchased by a meat packing plant owner by the name of Luis Limon. He is a native of San Antonio and has been in the meat and B.B.Q. industry for the past 20 years. He opened the doors in June of 2003 and began cooking.
Today, The Smokehouse serves B.B.Q. off of a 40 foot indoor pit. We cook with only 100% mesquite wood. Our B.B.Q. is prepared with a dry rub and slowly cooked on the pit by original Bob's Smokehouse pit masters Larry, Cliff, and Tony.
The unique quality of The Smokehouse is that you get to witness your B.B.Q. come straight of the pit and sliced right in front of you. This has helped The Smokehouse win numerous awards and be known as the place "where real B.B.Q. is smoked."
