Concerts Royaux: Instrumental Gems from the French Baroque

Tres Maresienne (Lisa Brooke, violin; Carol Lewis, viola da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen, theorbo & Baroque guitar) perform music by Couperin, Senaille, Dornel, de Visee and Marais, in a concert celebrating French culture for Bastille Day. Music from the court of the Sun King, Louis XIV, will include Couperin's first "Concert Royal" and Marais' "Sonate a la Maresienne" as well as virtuosic violin sonatas and lyrical theorbo solos. Supported in part by a grant from the Salem Cultural Coucil.
