Performers at this Event
Rocket from the Crypt
Rocket from the Crypt Remove performer from this event
The greased hair, sideburns, and bowling shirts (not to mention the inclusion of a horn player) should naturally peg San Diego's Rocket From the Crypt as a typical retro garage act. Although the band's sound is muscular in a straightforward rock-&-roll way and they are more than capable of a pop hook, the band also owes a debt to classic hardcore and post-hardcore punk bands....
Blonde Redhead
Blonde Redhead Remove performer from this event
Italian twins Amedeo and Simone Pace formed Blonde Redhead in New York City during the early 1990s with Japanese vocalist Kazu Makino. The group's brand of noise-rock earned them an unshakable comparison to Sonic Youth....
Girl Talk
Girl Talk Remove performer from this event
Pittsburgher Greg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, is a DJ and electronic cut-&-paste artist who garnered heavy attention in 2006 and 2007 with his album NIGHT RIPPER. Though Gillis's early material showcased an aggressively experimental mind at work, it wasn't nearly as accessible as the entirely sample-based pop mash-up that was NIGHT RIPPER....
Dessa
Dessa Remove performer from this event
From its first track, Dessa’s new full-length Parts of Speech (6.25.13, Doomtree Records) announces itself as something different. The Doomtree veteran and inveterate wordsmith — having proved her mettle in the fields of creative non-fiction, spoken-word and hip-hop — jettisons all genre expectations on “The Man I Knew” and croons a heartbreaking lament to a disintegrating relationship at an explosively-building clip....
Minus The Bear
Minus The Bear Remove performer from this event
With catchy song titles like "Hey, Wanna Throw Up? Get Me Naked," "Monkey!!! Knife!!! Fight!!!," and "Lemurs, Man, Lemurs," it's hard not to be at least a little bit curious about this Seattle-based quintet....
Doomtree
Doomtree Remove performer from this event
Hailing from the Minneapolis half of Minnesota's Twin Cities region, hip-hop collective Doomtree spin their MCs' eclectic influences into a highly literate brand of Midwestern rap. Forming gradually as like-minded artists came together, the group consists of rappers P....

Van She
Van She Remove performer from this event
The Aussie dance-rock act Van She formed in 2005 in the Sydney suburb of Bankstown. Each member of the band -- Michael Di Francesco (synths), Tomek Archer (drums), Nick Routledge (vocals/guitar), and Matt Van Schie (bass) -- had responded to an ad in Sydney's Drum Media magazine and arrived at an audition for a vocalist for a doom metal band with influences such as Sepultura, Entombed, Black Skull -- and Phil Collins....
Lemuria
Lemuria Remove performer from this event
Sheena Ozzella and Alex Kerns had already known each other for several years (including a spell where they were a couple) before forming Lemuria during the fall of 2004 in Buffalo, NY. The two looked to bands like the Lemonheads, Superchunk, Jawbreaker, and Hüsker Dü for influence in crafting their own punky, melodic indie rock....
Geographer
Geographer Remove performer from this event
Geographer is a three-piece indie rock band from San Francisco.
Surfer Blood
Surfer Blood Remove performer from this event
Though South Florida doesn't have the tides to shoot the curl, West Palm Beach's Surfer Blood fuse sunny surf rock charm with indie rock cool. Guitarist/vocalist John Paul Pitts and drummer Tyler Schwarz had known each other since high school; they started playing together and connected with guitarist Thomas Fekete, bassist Brian Black, and percussionist Marcos Marchesani at an Ultra Music Festival after-party, officially becoming Surfer Blood in spring 2009....
Dredg
Dredg Remove performer from this event
Hailing from Los Gatos, CA, Dredg began sharpening their aggro-metal sound in the early '90s. Comprised of Gavin Hayes (vocals/guitar), Mark Engles (guitar), Drew Roulette (bass), and Dino Campanella (drums), the group was performing in area clubs before they'd even graduated from high school....
Washed Out
Washed Out Remove performer from this event
Ernest Greene had been involved in a number of musical endeavors by the time he started putting together a series of recordings as Washed Out. Leading up to his first Washed Out recordings in the summer of 2009, Greene had worked on a similarly noisy and computerized (albeit far more guitar-heavy and fast-paced) bedroom recording project called Lee Weather....
Family of the Year
Family of the Year Remove performer from this event
Sunny Los Angeles-based indie pop outfit Family of the Year formed in 2009 around the talents of Welsh brothers Joseph and Sebastian Keefe, Florida native James Buckey, and Orange County, California denizen Christina Schroeter....
Grieves
Grieves Remove performer from this event
A Seattle-based rapper who is heavily influenced by the indie hip-hop duo Atmosphere, Grieves was born in Chicago. Thanks to his arts-loving father, he was introduced to the city's jazz clubs at a young age, but after moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, he had to wait until he turned 19 to land in a city with a more suitable musical climate, Seattle....
Cults
Cults Remove performer from this event
Cults' twinkling experimental pop arrived in a shroud of mystery early in 2010, when the group posted three songs on its Bandcamp page. One of those songs was "Go Outside," which mixed dream pop haze with girl group harmonies (and, fittingly, samples of Jonestown leader Jim Jones) and earned the band acclaim from publications including Pitchfork and NME....
Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons Remove performer from this event
In a dark kitchen in the middle of a sweaty night in Las Vegas, all 6’4” of Dan Reynolds is hunched over a laptop, slapping beats on the table and crooning lyrics into a tiny microphone....
