The Hullabaloo Music Festival will feature an exciting mix of 1960s and 1970s Rock & Roll musicians including Jay and the Americans, Cannibal and the Headhunters, Merrilee Rush, Badfinger, Sonny Geraci and Otis Day. Each of these bands is sure to impress with their own unique claim to fame. Otis Day was originally created for National Lampoon’s Animal House and later formed an actual band. Jay & the Americans have over 30 hit singles; Cannibal and the Headhunters were one of the first Mexican-American bands to have a hit record and opened for the Beatles. Grammy nominee Merrilee Rush topped music charts with her single Angel of the Morning. Badfinger worked closely with the Beatles on several of their hits, and Sonny Geraci was the original lead vocalist for The Outsiders and CLIMAX who had the top 10 hit “Precious and Few” which charted for 20 weeks. This nostalgic night of music is a must see!

BADFINGER was a rock/pop band formed in Swansea, Wales in the early 1960s. Originally called THE IVEYS, they became the true initiator of the "Power-Pop" genre which started following the British Merseybeat onslaught of the early/mid 60s, converging to Psych-Pop, and then...

At seven, a battered station wagon pulled into the Delta front yard. It was royal blue, had mud flaps and bore on its side the legend OTIS DAY & THE KNIGHTS. Boon rushed to the door and watched in near ecstasy as the station wagon poured out Negroes.

Cannibal & the Headhunters were one-hit wonders, but what a hit to have, if you're only going to have one: "Land of 1000 Dances." The group was also one of the first Mexican-American rock bands to have a national hit record, courtesy of that same tune.
Merrilee Rush
