Baltimore, MD's cabaret-punk trio Celebration features vocalist/percussionist Katrina Ford, multi-instrumentalist Sean Antanaitis, and drummer David Bergander. Dragons of Zynth
Unusual to say the least, Dragons of Zynth somehow cut and paste together a dizzying fusion of jazz, punk, dub, funk, soul, and hard rock, a sound that's been referred to as "Afrotek." The band has earned a reputation for its performances, which the band itself calls "audio-physio-psychic....

Thee Oh Sees
Thee Oh Sees are the latest incarnation of songwriter, singer, and guitarist John Dwyer's ever-evolving pop-folk psychedelic group. Dwyer, who hails from Providence, RI, has been active on the San Francisco indie scene since the late '90s, working with several bands, including the Coachwhips, Pink & Brown, Yikes, Up Its Alive, and Swords & Sandals, among others, and he formed OCS (which is an acronym for Orinoka Crash Suite, Orange County Sound, or whatever Dwyer decided it was on any given day) initially as a vehicle for the experimental instrumentals he was producing in his home studio....

CSS
São Paulo, Brazil's provocative, freewheeling dance-rock sextet CSS take their name from an abbreviation of "cansei de ser sexy," which is Portuguese for "tired of being sexy" (though, considering that the lead singer goes by the name Lovefoxxx, it's arguable how much that phrase actually applies to the band)....

Shabazz Palaces
The first hip-hop crew signed to the Sub Pop label, Shabazz Palaces is the brainchild of Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, although the Digable Planets member isn’t so quick to admit it.
