Abstract Expressionism Reconsidered
AB-EX / RE-CON reevaluates the generation of abstract expressionist painters who emerged in the United States in the years immediately after World War II. The exhibition explores works by some major and less familiar artists who were working in the abstract and gestural painting that dominated American art beginning in the late 1940s and who came to dominate contemporary art through the late 1950s.
