Rocks can tell you the story of how mountains were formed, which way is north and if there was ever a glacier in the area. Geology can tell us the history of our own backyard. Learn more about this fascinating field of study. See examples of minerals that make up rock. See examples of the different types of rocks we have in California. You can even crack open some rocks to see what’s inside! You can also come and check out some of our great fossils.
