Vassar made his debut on the country music scene in the late 1990s, co-writing singles for several country artists, including Tim McGraw ("For a Little While", "My Next Thirty Years"), Jo Dee Messina ("Bye, Bye", "I'm Alright"), Collin Raye ("Little Red Rodeo"), and Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money"). In 1999, he was named by ASCAP as Country Songwriter of the Year.
Later that same year, Vassar was signed to Arista Nashville as a recording artist. His debut album, Phil Vassar, was released in early 2000; it produced five hit singles on the U.S. Billboard country singles charts and was certified gold in the United States. He followed it in 2002 with American Child, Shaken Not Stirred in 2004, and finally Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 in 2006 Prayer of a Common Man, was released in early 2008. He has charted eighteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including two Number Ones: 2000's "Just Another Day in Paradise" and 2004's "In a Real Love". "Bobbi with an i" is his most recent single which is off of an upcoming fifth studio album.

You must see this multi-talented performer in concert. Phil rocked the place, had the entire crowd on their feet singing along with his catchy, memorable songs that talk directly to your heart....and get your heart pumping! Vassar's energy is every where as he jumps from one side of the stage to the other using his piano as a spring board in between. With songs like "Love Is A Beautiful Thing"and his crowd-pleasing "I'll Take That As A Yes," Phil entertained young and old with an intimate concert which leaves you feeling like you actually know the guy. Phil spends ample time signing autographs and talking with his fans; something most entertainers don't have time for....This singer/songwriter is easily my favorite to see live, however his CD's are equally as great to listen to in your car. Once you see this talented man in concert, you'll be instantly addicted. Also, try not to miss his acoustic shows. They sell out nearly every venue. Phil Vassar rocked the house at The Big Easy in Spokane, WA...don't miss him if he comes to your town!!!
