The Wka North American Tournament Championships showcases the best amateurs in North America. One weekend of the best amateur matches in North America Combat Sports League, sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Association – USA, will host a single elimination tournament to determine the best fighters in North America. The event includes competitors… Show more from the Us, Canada and Mexico, and will be used to select members for the Wka Us National Team that will qualify to represent the Us at the World Championships.
The World Kickboxing Association is one of the world’s oldest and most recognized governing bodies for various forms of Kickboxing. In 2000, the organization formed the Wka USA to oversee Kickboxing competition in the United States and, in 2004, Wka USA added Mixed Martial Arts, BJJ and No Gi Grappling to the portfolio of combat sports that it regulates.
The tournament includes BJJ (Gi and No Gi), Mma, Thaiboxing, K-1, Full Contact and Full Rules Muay Thai.
2012 had a record number of registrations/competitors in both the ring sports and grappling division with over 400 competitors from around North America. We will have grappling mats, a cage, 3 rings, improved online registration and two days of action that begin with eliminations Saturday and finish with semifinals and finals on Sunday! The three-day affair will kick off Friday with fighter check-ins, weigh-ins, medical reviews and bracketing.

Not all divisions will be offered at the World Championships Tournament and we have noted (*) below those that will be offered. We encourage all competitors to compete in as many styles as they wish regardless of whether they are options at World Championships Tournaments.

Novice or Open Class?
Open Class divisions are open to all amateur competitors with more than three wins in any combative sport (Thaiboxing, Full Contact, Kickboxing, Mma, K-1 or Boxing). Novice competitor has three wins or less . Novice competitors may choose to move to Open Class, but he/she will not be allowed to compete as a Novice again.
Winners of Open Class divisions will be awarded the Wka North American Tournament Champion and winners of the divisions listed below qualify for the Us Team to travel to the annual Wka World Championships.

Competitor Equipment
The fight equipment used at the North American Championships Tournament will be provided by Wka USA. Competitors will be required to wear headgear and shin guards. Competitors are required to provide a mouth guard, protective cup and gauze & tape or cloth hand wraps. Competitors are not allowed to wear support braces of any kind.
Mixed Martial Arts Division
