During her internship at the Institute for Advanced Care in Chiropractic,… Show more she received additional advanced, post-doctorate training through the “That Something” Coaching Program making her a part of a select group of chiropractors providing Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic Care.
Dr. Book is currently a candidate to become Board Certified in Chiropractic Pediatrics after completing an intense program administered by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Book has extensive knowledge in the care of pediatric patients and the unique challenges that they can present.
Seven years of experience working in chiropractic offices instilled in Dr. Book a love of seeing people get well, and inspired Dr. Book to attend chiropractic school. While in school she was very active, serving on the student council in various capacities.
Dr. Book has also served with the El Salvador Outreach Program of Life Chiropractic College West, where she provided care to hundreds of patients, and educated people about chiropractic.
Upon graduation, Dr. Book joined the team at The Specific Chiropractic Center in Dublin. Her passion and desire to bring wellness into her community drives her to be highly involved in creating wellness initiatives that will affect the lives of many.
Dr. Lauren Clum : Dr. Lauren Clum graduated Magna Cum Laude, with high honors, from Life Chiropractic College West, earning her the Valedictory distinction in her class. She has completed hundreds of hours of post-graduate work in specific chiropractic through the International Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (Iucca) and the That Something Coaching Program to join the ranks of only a handful of chiropractors trained to deliver this specialized work.
After graduation, Dr. Clum moved to San Jose, Costa Rica to practice with her brother and his wife, both chiropractors. Together they were able to serve hundreds of people each week in three offices. A year and a half later, Dr. Clum returned to her Bay Area home and began plans for opening her own practice. Just about a year later, she opened the doors to her dream practice The Specific Chiropractic Center, Oakland.
During her time in Costa Rica, Dr. Clum was afforded the opportunity to hone her Spanish-speaking skills, and is pleased to now run a bilingual practice, helping both English and Spanish speakers alike. Additionally, once a year she travels to San Salvador, El Salvador with a group of chiropractors to provide free chiropractic care to the local people. Over the course of her three mission trips she has cared for thousands of people, from the very young to the very old, providing hope and better health to the underserved.
Prior to her chiropractic studies, Dr. Clum received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management from Sonoma State University.
Throughout chiropractic school, she served as president of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students, an international organization that brings together chiropractic students from across the globe to effect change in the profession, as well as on the Executive Board of Omega Sigma Phi, a chiropractic philanthropic sorority.
