A Touch of Classical Piano

An evening of masterful piano performances will delight classical music fans as the Cascade Theatre and The Musical Arts League present A Touch of Classical Piano. The annual concert features exuberant performances by world class pianists and composers, all who study with Duane Hampton, an internationally renowned pianist, composer, and master teacher, who brings these talented musicians together for one evening each year at the Cascade Theatre.
Featured returning performers include… Show more Samuel Knight, Nathaniel Bell, brothers Jonathan and Matthew Adams and Kevin Woodruff. This year's roster of pianists has been expanded to include some new faces: Laura Hill, Jessica Hess and ten year old prodigy Mark Cohen.
Highlights of this year's concert include the Vladimir Horowitz transcription of Bizet's Carmen Fantasy performed by Samuel Knight, and Kevin Woodruff's performance of Godowsky's fantasy of themes from Strauss' Die Fledermaus. The program features works from many other baroque and romantic masters as well, plus two world premieres of brand new Duane Hampton compositions.
Following the concert is an opportunity to get to know the performers at a reception held on the theatre stage. An additional ticket is required to attend this event.
In conjunction with this concert, applications for a scholarship will be accepted for one advanced student to study with Duane Hampton and to perform at next year's concert.
