Mirage Is Awesome

I have lived in Raleigh all my life. My family resides in Asheville now but I continue to live in Raleigh. I am in Sales and am on the road three weeks out of the month. I have traveled around the world many times. When I am in Raleigh I always try to find trendy and happening places for drinks, sometimes dancing and especially good Sushi. I was fortunate to have attended Mirage Night Club and Sushi Lounge Grand Opening back in May. When I attended I realized that Raleigh had finally found something that has everything you want... Great Food, Dancing, Night Club, A+ Staff and Great Atmosphere. I am now a regular at Mirage and recently had a party at the club. I'm on the road alot but always try to stop by for some good sushi when I'm in town.
I want to comment on the other review that is called "Awful". It's unfortunate sweetie that you had a bad experience. It's funny you write this Review. I actually was having dinner the night you were at the club. My boyfriend and I enjoyed your performance. I thought the service was fantastic considering your party was so large and everyone in your group came in different times and ordered at different times. You held up the restaurant. The management talked to you several times and still it was drama drama with you. A restaurant should not have to deal with people ordering at different times. A reservation is for a set time for your party. I saw you were upstairs. That was nice of them to do that because it is never opened. I have been up twice and that has been on a Friday or Saturday. I always ask to eat upstairs but it is never opened. You are not a happy person and thats unfortunate. Mirage is considered one of the top sushi restaurants in Raleigh and is the #1 night club in Raleigh and one of the best in the state. Sweetie. Get over yourself and go back to McDonald's. Oh that's right you don't like plastic. Try White Castle. That will be a real treat for you.
As for Mirage. I strongly suggest trying Mirage for dinner and dancing. The Mirage Punch for a drink is great. As for the sushi. Go for the Mirage Dragon and the Wolfpack. They both are to die for. My favorite roll is the Mirage Special. The VIP Room for parties is great as is the normal seating. Try out Mirage. You won't be sorry

Absolutely horrible. We had a group of 20 in the VIP section for sushi on a Wednesday evening. It took close to 2 hours for one girl to get her california rolls, it was so dark no one could see the menu. We asked the waitress if we could get a light turned on and she told us sure but that never happened. We used our phones to try to read the menu. They were out of several fish and the paper sushi menu did not match the main menu. Additionally many things were misspelled on the menu-not to nit pick but for the prices you would think they would use spell check?

The water and wine glasses were plastic! We ate on folding card tables. They didn't have enough seating for everyone in our group. The food was ok but not great. The service was bad, one person tried to speak with the sushi chef who yelled at her. We tried to speak to the manager who was stone faced and basically said that it was our fault because we weren't really supposed to be in the VIP area on a weekday (we had been promised this by another manager) and they were understaffed.
The music was strange-Cotton Eyed Joe followed by Bob Marley followed by Dream Weaver? This place is bizarre and the layout is odd, it seems to be in an identity crisis of club or restaurant and they are failing miserably as a restaurant.

We will never go back and this place will never succeed.
