“Turn the Radio On”: Carolina Bluegrass exhibit
In celebration of Raleigh’s first International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) annual World of Bluegrass convention in September, this exhibit case in the museum lobby shows that bluegrass music has its roots in the Carolinas as much as anywhere else.
The exhibit case highlights the early years of bluegrass in North Carolina during the golden age of radio in the 1930s and 1940s. Learn about Tar Heel musicians and see their instruments.
