News & Observer restaurant critic Greg Cox says: The decor of this North Hills newcomer is contemporary-chic with an East-meets-West motif, and the upscale menu of traditional and contemporary Japanese fare lives up to the setting. Kobe beef steaks and toro tuna are featured, but there are plenty of less pricy (but by no means cheap) options to make a visit worthwhile. Firecracker shrimp make an excellent starter, as do any of the oversize sushi rolls. (For that matter, all sushi is a good bet). Soy-marinated short ribs and tempura shrimp are both rewarding entrees. Skip dessert, and retire to the bar for ice wine or chilled sake.
