New Weird America is a devised dance-theatre piece based on the Latin America folk dance (and music) 'La Cueca' and is a commentary on our modern reappropriation of old cultures and is centered around Pan-American courtship rituals and folk traditions. The dancing and live-playing of some Violeta Parra songs, is done by the 8-person ensemble, Folk Mantra.
