"What becomes a legend most? Few singers of our time have the staying power of this folk icon, whose voice, songs, and lyrics have been a part of our lives for almost fifty years. In the sixties, Judy Collins often visited McCarter as a charter member of that decade's folk dynasty, along with Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, and Bonnie Raitt. She's recorded 40 albums, with Grammy nominations galore, and what true folkie's collection does not boast a shopworn copy of her In My Life or Wildflowers or her single hits like Both Sides Now, Bird on a Wire, and Masters of War? Bill Clinton liked her collection Colors of the Day so much he named his daughter after her rendition of Chelsea Morning. Along the way and over the years, while continuing to perform and write songs, Judy has also turned author (including her best-selling memoir Singing Lessons), started her own CD label (Wildflower Records) and served as UNICEF's Special Representative for the Arts. And she has embraced the world of the cabaret superstar, where her concerts incorporate not only the influences of her past but also those of the present, from Woody Guthrie to Stephen Sondheim." - WWLJr.
