Kix Brooks
Before he became one-half of Brooks & Dunn, the most popular country duo of the '90s, Kix Brooks cut an unsuccessful solo album on the basis of a much more productive songwriting career. Brooks was born in Shreveport, LA, in 1955, and discovered country music through his neighbor, Johnny Horton; he began performing with Horton's daughter as a youth, and spent his high-school years playing clubs and writing songs on the side....

Air Supply
With their heavily orchestrated, sweet ballads, the Australian soft rock group Air Supply became a staple of early-'80s radio, scoring a string of seven straight Top Five singles. Air Supply, for most intents and purposes, was the duo of vocalists Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell; other members came through the group over the years, yet they only functioned as backing musicians and added little to the group's sound....

Weird Al Yankovic
The foremost song parodist of the MTV era, "Weird Al" Yankovic carried the torch of musical humor more proudly and more successfully than any performer since Allan Sherman. In the world of novelty records -- a genre noted for its extensive back catalog of flashes-in-the-pan and one-hit wonders -- Yankovic was king, scoring smash after smash over the course of an enduring career which found him topically mocking everything from new wave to gangsta rap....

Clay Walker
With his first two singles reaching number one upon their release, Clay Walker immediately established himself as a commercial success. Unlike most of his new country contemporaries of the mid-'90s, he was able to sustain that success over a couple of years, racking up no less than five number one singles in the first three years of his career....

I have attended many fairs and was very disappointed when visiting the
Pleasanton fair last weekend (07/10/10). The admission and parking fees are
understood, but the excessively over priced food and drinks spoiled the entire
fair. The prices were so high that there were very few booths that had more
than 1 person in line at a time. I noticed most of the children walking
around with no food or drinks. Isn't this what the fair is all about? I am
not a cheap person and expect like most people to have slightly inflated
prices, but I can say that the prices at this fair are so high that all this
is going to do is choke the business and make people not return (like myself).
I will not be back. The last straw was after ordering a heineken at the
sports bar. They charged me 12.00 for a glass of beer.. you can't tell me
this is not ridiculous.
