African Americans: From Slavery to Freedom

The History Center’s Thomas & Katherine Detre Library & Archives will host a special workshop to help visitors learn the best methods for researching their family history.

On Sat., Feb. 23, genealogists will present their research on the manumission papers included in the From Slavery to Freedom exhibit. The experts will share genealogy methods used to research those ancestors who were enslaved and emancipated.
