The Byzantine Choir of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh presents a lecture-concert "The Christmas Hymnography of the Savvaite Fathers".
A hymnologic, historic and musicologic analysis of representative Christmas hymns composed in the St. Sabbas Monastery of Jerusalem between the 5th-9th centure C.E. The Choir will perform these hymns in Greek and Arabic in Byzantine Chant
Open to the public.
