"Love Makes the World Go 'Round"

Phoenix Theatre’s world-premiere musical draws on the classic songbook of Bob Merrill, who wrote “Mambo Italiano” (sung by Rosemary Clooney), co-wrote “(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?” (Patti Page) and collaborated on the Broadway shows “Funny Girl” and “Carnival!” The plot — which really isn’t so important in a jukebox musical — concerns three New York women comparing their love lives. To give the show a forward spin, musical arrangements are by Brad Ellis of television’s “Glee.”
