Lunch Time Theater: "The League"
The Afro-American Council existed between 1898 and 1907 touting itself as a bi-partisan group consisting of Republican and Democrat Afro-American leaders. The group, including T. Thomas Fortune (journalist), W.E.B. Dubois (activist), Ida B. Wells-Barnett (activist) and Booker T. Washington (activist/educator) suffered constant infighting, financial struggle and political upheaval.
