Thomas Wilkins Conducts Brahms’ Violin Concerto

The principal guest conductor at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles as well as the music director of the Omaha Symphony, Wilkins holds the distinction of being the first Black conductor to hold that title at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He leads the Phoenix Symphony and one of the world’s preeminent violinists, Miriam Fried, in a concert that features Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5,” Márquez’s “Danzón No. 2” and Brahms’ “Violin Concerto.”
