Second Sunday Culture Film: Dal Puri Diaspora (2012)

Sunday, Feb 9 2:00p
Penn Museum Philadelphia, PA

Living in Toronto, filmmaker Richard Fung longs for dal puri, the comfort food of his native Trinidad. A trip home soon leads him to travel to India in search of the true origins of "authentic" dal puri, and the legacy it represents. After the film, Dr. Chi-ming Yang, Asian American Studies at Penn, leads a discussion on diaspora and culture retention. Filmmaker Richard Fung speaks with the audience about his film. Meet the filmmaker and explore Trinidadian cuisine at this series finale event!
