Philadelphia Orchestra: Mozart's Linz

Friday, Mar 28 2:00p
Kimmel Center Philadelphia, PA

This program, led by Donald Runnicles, also celebrates the centenary of British composer Benjamin Britten. The program opens with the Four Sea Interludes from his opera Peter Grimes. Violinist Janine Jansen presents the composer’s virtuosic Violin Concerto, written while in self-imposed exile in North America prior to the tumult of World War II. Arvo Pärt’s Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten was composed upon Britten’s death.
