Enter the labyrinth of sound and motion which is the exhilarating signature frame drum, shaker and overtone singing styles of Glen Velez, combined with Lori Cotler's special approach to South Indian rhythm singing. Using simple movements and clapping patterns, as well as vocalized breathing, splittone singing and rhythm chants, we will be inspired by the miraculous drumming traditions of Egypt, India and the Mediterranean World. This hands on workshop is open to all levels. We will learn the basics techniques of frame drumming, shaker playing, overtones and rhythm singing. Frame Drums and Shakers will be provided.
