Connie Smith

Country singer Connie Smith became an overnight sensation in 1964, when her recording of Bill Anderson’s "Once A Day" shot to the top of the U.S. country charts where it stayed for eight weeks. She scored several more Top 10 hits throughout the '60s and '70s, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in '65. She also capitalized on her looks and charm by appearing in a handful of country music-related films in the '60s.
