Kid Static

Kid Static is a Chicago rapper/producer who is sometimes affiliated with fellow Chicago rapper/producer Yea Big. He is a producer first and foremost, with a style that is informed by experimental electronica styles, but his rapping is what garners the most attention. He released his solo debut album, Have You Seen This Man? (2005), on the independent label Anodyne Electric Company. In 2007 he joined Yea Big for the release of The Heavy, a 7" EP on Metal Postcard, and Yea Big + Kid Static, a full-length album on Jib Door. In addition to studio work, the duo also performed together, notably opening for Rhymefest at the Metro in Chicago; they toured as well. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
