Darling

Although playing guitar and singing with the Avett Brothers is Seth Avett's day job, he also moonlights as a solo artist. Mixing an intimate singer/songwriter style with eclectic, often quirky instrumentation, Avett first adopted the Darling moniker in 2001. To Make the World Quiet was recorded late that winter, while Killing the Headlamps followed in 2002. As the Avett Brothers' popularity increased throughout the decade, Avett's solo work was relegated to the back burner, although he did issue The Mourning, the Silver, the Bell in 2005. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
