Dr. John

Cutting his teeth on New Orleans session work while still a teen in the 1950s, pianist and singer Dr. John (born Mac Rebennack) emerged in the late 1960s with GRIS-GRIS, a blend of snaky rhythms, Crescent City funk, and swampland voodoo flair. Since then, he has remained one of New Orleans's prime musical ambassadors, an artist with his own trademark sound and style. ~ Rovi

This guy looks like a pimp!

You have to respect that in this day and age. Especially when they put Dr. in their name. Event his background makes his sound awesome. He apparently lost his ring finger on his left hand from a gunshot wound. Thats pretty hard core if ask me. I would see him if only because he sounds like he's got great stories, that I hope he tells in between songs.
