American actor Matthew David McConaughey born November 4, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas made his move into the spot light with his breakout role in Dazed and Confused, director Richard Linklater's second feature film, he also had predominate roles in A Time to Kill, Contact, U-571, Sahara, and We Are Marshall. He also played the leading man in several romantic comedies, including The Wedding Planner, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Failure to Launch, Fool's Gold and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

I think he's got an appealing on screen presence and warm personality that is equally attractive to women and men. He's a guy's guy and you just have to look at the cover of the magazines in your supermarket to know that he's every woman's guy too. Unfortunately, he gets a mix of good and bad parts; I was anxiously awaiting his Dirk Pitt role in Sahara (for which he was well cast) and the bombed the movie and put him up against costars who were as poorly cast as DeNiro was in Stardust.
