b. 20 November 1921, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Price first made a mark on the Australian traditional jazz scene, playing banjo and guitar in various bands in the 40s by which time he had been playing, at least on a semi-professional level, for several years. He also played bass with studio and symphony orchestras, and often appeared with the Port Jackson Jazz Band. For several decades he was well known for his jazz work as both a touring musician and an educator. His vigorous and rhythmic playing enhanced many traditional jazz bands, including those led by John Sangster and Bob Barnard. ~ Rovi
