Orvon Gene Autry (September 29, 1907 – October 2, 1998), was an performer whom gained footing in the 1930, gained fame as The Singing Cowboy for over thirty years. Autry is best known for his Christmas songs, Frosty the Snowman, Here Comes Santa Claus (which he wrote,) and the infamous Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Autry was also the owner of the Major League baseball team the Los Angeles Angels from 1961 till his death in 1998.
